Salo (lard)

Salo is often associated with Ukrainians and the tastiest one with the Vinnytsia region. This is one of the most famous culinary brand of the city. While growing Vinnytsia pigs the owners are using a traditional and scientific approach.
They do not open their secrets, but it is known for sure, that it is impossible to grow a good pig without a cow: salo will not be tasty if little pig doesn’t drink whey and doesn’t eat goosefoot and yarrow. Salo from a belly part is tender and is melting on the tongue.
